February Maker Challenge is here!

February 5th, 2018

This month’s Maker Challenge is a Balloon Powered Dragster

The rules are as follows:

  1. Parents or other adults are welcome to help.

  2. This contest will see a bracket style race- off with students racing their dragster down a flat, 20 foot track.  First dragster to cross the line moves on!

  3. The only restrictions are as follows:

    1. The car must be longer than 12 inches long

    2. The car must have at least three wheels.

    3. The car must be propelled by a rubber balloon (or multiple rubber balloons)

Aside from the above restrictions, the balloon powered dragster can be something created from scratch, or even a toy modified to be propelled by a balloon. Also, you may choose to use a balloon of any size or any shape.

  1. As always, this competition is not mandatory. The goal of this is to pique student interest and challenge themselves.

  1. There is no prize for this challenge but all participating students will have time to show off their design and tests it’s abilities on February 28th, 2018

As always, if there are materials that the school can help you with, please do not hesitate to ask!

Due Date: All projects must be ready and at school on February 28th at 10:00 AM.
