February Principals Message

Dear Botha School Community,
We have officially made it through the darkest days of winter and more sunlight is on the horizon. More sunlight might also make those early mornings a little bit easier ;)
January was a funny month with our snow days and middle of the week PD but we ended the month with a ski trip to Alliance. We lucked out with a beautiful day as well. A huge thank you to all the parents that took the time to attend and helped all day on that bunny hill! As well as the parents that were in the lodge and supported the students who came inside for various things. We are so lucky to have such amazing parental involvement in our school activities!
It looks like we are going to have a cold start to February which might mean we have some indoor recesses but please send your child(ren) with all their winter gear anyways as temperatures can fluctuate throughout the day. If the temperature reaches -25, it will be indoor recess, otherwise we are outside!
February is a very busy month with many activities for our students which is great but it also means they need to come to school prepared for those activities so they are able to partake. We have kids going skating, curling and playing basketball!
Curling - Students will need clean indoors shoes and a sweater/jacket.
Skating - Students need helmets, skates and gloves. It is advised they also wear snowpants.
Basketball - Students will need clean indoor shoes and a water bottle!
All the dates are on the February Calendar but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Joy Corpataux
