November Principals Message
November Principal's Message
Dear Botha School Community,
How is it November already?! This year has been flying by and I want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of gratitude and community. Whether it's coming in to do hot lunch, volunteering for activity days, reading with students, baking for our breakfast program and everything else in between; We appreciate you!
In November we are busy with swimming lessons, which for us means a whole school field trip to the pool every Tuesday and Thursday. While it might appear that we miss our morning classes, we do our best to continue teaching at the pool. The kinders to grade 4 have been using a room upstairs and the ⅚ class has been using the downstairs hallway. We wrap up swimming lessons to be back at the school for second recess at noon. While it might not be the traditional learning in our classrooms at the school, teachers are getting creative and making it work.
The kids have been busy calling businesses in Stettler for the Ice Melt Fundraiser. When the kids were asked how the felt about calling businesses they said,
“At first I was nervous but after you do a few, it's fun! “
“Can I call again today, I really want to sell some more ice melt.”
“Can I phone more people? Some are friendly and just like to talk and I also like to talk.”
“It's fun, but also a little scary!”
“My heart beats fast as I dial the number but then the people are really nice!”
Parent Teacher Interviews are happening on November 20th so please take a minute to sign up if you haven't. Interviews are a great time to come in and connect with your child's teacher. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you for your continued commitment to our school. We are grateful for each of you and look forward to a successful month ahead.
Warm regards,
Joy Corpataux
